On 18 April, 15 members of the Sandhurst Association of Religious (SAR) gathered at St Brendan’s, Shepparton for a delightful get-together, which was also tinged with sadness as the group farewelled Sr Cecilia Merrigan (Brigidine) and Sr Agnes Murphy (Mercy).
Sr Agnes, who has been involved in parish ministry in Shepparton for over ten years, will leave Shepparton in June.
Our gathering began with a very meaningful paraliturgy presented via PowerPoint by Sr Liz Brown fcj. Liz also had a backup of the presentation, which she presented to Cecilia and Agnes.
Following this, we shared news of our various ministries and other activities in our respective parishes, which was very interesting and good to hear.
Lunch was another time of sharing, both words and food. We enjoyed a delicious ‘farewell’ cake, cut by Srs Cecilia and Agnes, who were presented with parting gifts.
Sr Suzanne Fairbairn is the Sandhurst Association of Religious Coordinator.
